On October 19, the monstrous Michael Myers returns to the big screen to give Halloween fans another horrifying scare, just in time for the real day.

After sixteen years, when the last film of the Halloween franchise was last released, director of the Halloween movie (2018), Mr. David Gordon Green, added another mystery, slasher film that adequately corresponded to the past released movies in the franchise.

Mr. Green could not leave out one of the major characters, Laurie Strode, terrifically played play Jamie Lee Curtis, sister of the devilish killer, Michael Myers, who was perfectly played by Nick Castle. It only took forty years for Laurie Strode (Curtis) to assumily “end” Michael Myers (Castle), once and for all.

Different from the other films, the viewers are able to see the long term effects Myers has on his sister, Strode, over the many years of her living in fear and vengeance of her brother. The viewers are also able to meet Strodes grown up, in denial daughter, Karen Strode, played by Judy Greer, and Strode’s oblivious, teenage granddaughter, Allyson, who was played by Andi Matichak.

Other than the corresponding plot and conflict, Mr. Green added similar effects to the 2018 film that were also used in the previous ones. Sophomore, Ms. Emily Brenes, and junior, Jordan Ardito, both agree that they enjoyed the movie more, because of the familiar effects such as music, sounds, and the film production. By this the viewer is able to reminisce and go back into the other movies and relate the plots in order to enjoy the quality of the film.

Jody Strode, played by Jamie Lee Curtis, brawls with her haunting brother, Micheal Myers in the last “Halloween” movie, directed by David Gordon Green.

There is no doubt that the 2018 Halloween film is not on the same rating level as the original Halloween movie of the franchise. Like most movie sequels, the first movie is usually liked most. However, the only way fanatics are going to settle that, is for them to the go watch it and they should as it is a great way to get into the Halloween spirit. Potential viewers of the film would have to be those who have a strong stomach for blood and bone breaks. Viewers who should watch this would have to enjoy the thrill of not knowing what happens next and also who love to see the gruesome and gory films.

Overall, the Halloween 2018 film of the Halloween movie franchise, was a success when prolonging the plot after sixteen years. It did it’s job in creating a Halloween spirit for horror movie viewers. If the archetype of the fanatic is similar to the one reading this, it is definitely worth finding out if this movie is just what you need for the spooky season.
