“Keeping Milford Clean”
Milford, Connecticut, is known as “A Small City with a Big Heart.” However, residents and visitors alike may also recognize it for its wildlife, particularly in the center of town. With two duck ponds, a small waterfall, and a harbor, downtown Milford has been the home of these animals for years. In an effort to protect the waterfowl, including ducks, geese, and swans, Milford has implemented conservation strategies, including signs informing visitors not to feed the animals, and placing clearly labeled trash cans with the words “Keep Milford Clean.” Although perfection has not been achieved, as there is still litter, wildlife is visibly flourishing. Anyone who would like the opportunity to both see the impact of Milford’s conservation efforts, as well as enjoy the beauty of a clean place to call home.
