Turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, and gravy. These dishes are classic and loved during Thanksgiving season. Which Thanksgiving dish is Foran’s favorite?
Many people have different opinions on Thanksgiving and the types of food. Some love all food that is provided with the classic holiday and some others hate the main dish. We believe that Thanksgiving food is the best you can get. The warm gravy, perfect turkey, and fulfilling stuffing are meals no other holidays can beat.
As Thanksgiving is around the corner it is the perfect time to discuss the topic. Many people are picky eaters and do not like the food variety, and some others find the holiday to be overrated and even think the food is nasty.
We both like the holiday because of the main dish turkey, alongside some warm gravy and perfectly whipped mash potatoes. No matter the potato, we like them, even the sweet potatoes, which some people are not big fans of. One of us likes all of the sides that come with Thanksgiving, while the other isn’t the biggest fan of cranberries and stuffing.
Uncle Greg Scinto, a Milford resident, hosts Thanksgiving at his house every year and is a huge lover of the holiday. Scinto states,“My favorite dish every year is antipasto because I make it every year, and it contains 15-16 different types of meats and veggies such as pepperoni, salami, mushrooms and cheese.”
Scinto really enjoys making this every year because many others are always looking forward to this dish.
Junior Carli Cassone gives her opinion of whether sweet potatoes or mashed potatoes are better.
Cassone states, “Sweet potatoes, because my mom makes sweet potatoes with brown sugar and pecans and it’s like eating something healthy but it tasted like a dessert. It’s great.”
Junior Vincent Hine is a huge fan of the holiday and shares his favorite part of the meal. “My favorite dish is the juicy turkey my uncle makes for the family every year,” he says. He also has an opinion on mashed potatoes versus sweet potatoes.
“I prefer mashed potatoes because as a kid I never liked sweet potatoes because they have a weird color.” Hine thinks that the color of the sweet potatoes makes the food taste worse so he prefers mashed potatoes.
Foran culinary teacher Randy Colin states why Thanksgiving is special to her.
“Thanksgiving is special because it brings family and friends together, and the preparation of food brings people together, while families are cooking in the kitchen it brings families together over food.”
