Joseph A. Foran High School’s school store has now opened up for the 2023-2024 school year. The school store reopened for this school year on October 26.
If interested in buying items at the store, it will be open on C days during period seven and F days during period eight.
The school store will be selling spirited Foran apparel such as tee shirts, sweatshirts, sweatpants, knitted winter hats, bucket hats, lanyards, water bottles, magnets, drawstring bags, as well as fresh baked cookies.
Career and technical education (CTE) department head Mrs. Melissa Cacioppo states, “great place to purchase Foran gear especially for freshmen and new students and staff to Foran.”
Everything that is being sold at the store has very reasonable prices for students and staff.
Sophomore Joseph Kerzner is one of the workers that was asked to help out this year. Kerzner likes that he can have fun at the store but also earn volunteer hours while contributing to Foran.
Kerzner says his favorite item to sell would be, “cookies since it’s probably the thing that attracts people most to the store and I got the academic award in culinary, so I’m cooking.”
The school store has been managed by business teacher Mr. Jeff Blude.
Kerzner was asked by Blude during his personal finance class at the start of the year when Kerzner was talking about wanting to earn volunteer hours.
Blude has been the one in charge of the school store for three years now. He has been looking forward to opening up the store to start baking the cookies again since most people love to buy them.
Keep a lookout for new items in the school store as Blude states, “We will be designing and selling some additional apparel to sell in the store this year.”
Junior Matthew Cioppa is a big customer for this store by helping with the increase of cookie sales last year.
Cioppa states, “my favorite item to buy is the delicious cookies.”
Cioppa is going on his second year of being a customer at the store. He likes to buy cookies at the end of the day which are two cookies for $1.
The school store has been open for many years and continues to grow and evolve as students’ interests change. For any suggestions of items to sell, or to be involved in the selling of merchandise, please see or contact Blude.
