As Foran rang in the new year, the senior class reflected upon their upcoming plans after graduation. Some have experienced feelings of sentiment for their time in high school and have reminisced over numerous memories they’ve shared with their friends the last three years. If they’re going into the workforce or attending a university, the senior class will appreciate the memories they made at Foran.
Many seniors find themselves looking fondly over their past years of high school, whether it be because of their favorite teacher they had, or friends they made, almost every senior has a year of high school they’ll remember for the memories it gave them.
Senior Matt Nolan expresses that his sophomore year was his favorite.
He shares, “It was where I remember having the most fun with all of my friends and I enjoyed every class I had. There was no stress about my future just yet so I was able to enjoy my time.”
Students often remember a specific class or teacher that made their high school experience memorable for them.
Senior Teagan Mulvhill, for example, says, “My favorite class was AP 2-D because I got to do what I loved with people I enjoyed being around. My favorite teacher was Mrs. Hudson.”
Seniors’ favorite classes have a wide range from art to physics, Model UN to Woodtech, and more. Plenty of memories are made within these classes as well as outside the school.
Senior Karthikeya Lakoji expresses that his favorite memories throughout high school were the football games.
These widely loved games, whether they’re home or away, are often attended by the most spirited Foran students. Each theme is met with immense pride and effort, making each game one to remember. The Thanksgiving Day Game that’s held every year against Foran rival Jonathan Law is especially anticipated by students from both schools alike.
This year’s graduating class has made memories within their sports, with their friends, and at different Foran events such as school dances over the years. Each one means something different to each senior as they look back on their time at Foran. They will continue to make more with their friends as the year progresses.
As they take on their new chapter into the real world, they’ll always have their Foran memories to cherish as the years pass. Many teachers see their students change over the years and have words of wisdom to share to each graduating class.
English teacher Mrs. Shannon Worcester-Juran says, “Find your passion and make it a part of your life, you don’t need to focus on your passion every day but don’t push it onto the backburner either! And remember, you can always be anything you want to be – your potential doesn’t end after college.”
