Each year, some Foran teachers depart and say goodbye, while others start a new chapter in their teaching careers by taking their place. This school year, two new teachers are joining the Foran staff, and they hope to make their mark on the school community.
The new teachers are Mr. John Liscio and Ms. Megan Hosking, who are both in the Health/PE (HPE) department.
Hosking teaches Health and Safety to all grades. Hosking states, “Coming to Foran, I was excited to work with such an amazing HPE department and create lessons that will be engaging and fun for students in all grade levels.”
She also looks forward to becoming more involved with extracurricular activities throughout the school.
Liscio teaches Physical Education and Health and Safety. He previously taught in the Milford school district as an East Shore Middle School staff member.
Liscio states, “I’m excited to work with high school students and to continue building connections here at Foran. After spending the last three years at East Shore Middle School, it is great to see some familiar faces in this new setting.”
He also looks forward to teaching high school and seeing students grow through the topics his class will cover. He says he finds it truly rewarding to watch them engage with the material and apply what they have learned to their lives.
Principal Mr. Max Berkowitz states, “Both new teachers bring a lot to an already great faculty. They all bring enthusiasm and energy, despite having varying levels of experience. I look forward to working with them.”
