The winter season offers a range of destinations for unforgettable experiences whether tropical, urban, or mountainous.
Some people enjoy spending the winter away from home, while others enjoy the comfort of their own homes. Branching out to different places could create better experiences and more memorable moments.
Junior Maddox Wesh says, “Milwaukee has a beautiful community and it is a joy to experience the city.”
Wesh frequently travels to Milwaukee and New Hampshire which have provided an overall great experience. Skiing during winter is also a big reason for travel. Wesh states, “New Hampshire has incredible mountains for skiing/snowboarding.”
Traveling for winter sports is also a very common practice whether you do it professionally or just for fun. Some people like to travel to places they have never been before while others return to the same place year after year.
Science teacher Mr. Mathew Wajda likes to travel to Vermont and New York.
Wajda states, “I have a friend who’s a Rockette.”
This is one of the main reasons why Wajda enjoys traveling to New York with his family. Wajda and his family go backstage during these performances where they see all kinds of things from performers to camels.
“In Vermont, we enjoy hiking,” Wajda states.
Wajda enjoys Vemont the most in the winter because it’s less crowded leaving more availability to try great restaurants.
Another popular winter destination is New York. New York has many experiences for any kind of person.
Nyah Boromei states, “I like ice skating at the Rockefeller Center.”
Boromei likes traveling to see the decorations and lights around the city. Traveling during Winter could also be a struggle due to large airport crowds. According to The Vacationer 50.44% or nearly 131 million American adults plan to travel for Christmas. People travel during the winter whether it’s somewhere close to their home, or somewhere far away. While there are countless vacation spots for the cold weather, there is no place where memories can’t be made.
