From plain bagels to everything bagels with cream cheese, citizens all around the country love to indulge in these doughy snacks. National Bagel Day, celebrated on February 9th, is the perfect way to promote local bagel shops that have been a staple in many communities.
Many breakfast cafes sell bagels, which are a hit on their menu. These bagels are loved because of their wide variety of flavors, colors, and spreads to enjoy at any time of day.
Since 2016, Devine’s Bagel has been a popular eating destination. With the help of his three daughters, construction company owner Patrick Devine was able to make this dream of owning a bagel shop come true.
One of his daughters, Jennifer Devine, works part-time at the bagel shop and is in charge of the gluten-free line.
“I love working here,” Devine says. “It’s so nice working for something that’s for my family.”
Every day, when people come to get their bagel at Devine’s, they smile when they see the family in their very own bagel shop.
“I love bagels.” says freshman Peighton Nash. “They’re always the perfect snack for before or after school.”
Bagels are shown to bring people together. People often gather together for a quick meal. Enjoying a bagel with some friends can always make someone’s day.
Norah Fedigan and Emma Heinmiller went out for breakfast bagels on January 12, 2025. They used this experience to study for upcoming midterms.
Heinmiller says, “Norah and I studied together at Café Atlantique. I had an everything bagel with cream cheese. I think Norah had the same.”
This get-together at a local Milford café allowed the two to be productive while sharing their love for bagels.
This National Bagel Day, celebrate with a friend or family member by going to a local bagel shop or cafe and enjoying one of these delicious treats.
