Key Club at Foran High School serves as a beneficial organization that serves the town of Milford and the Foran community. With its focus on community service and volunteerism, the club provides students with a great amount of opportunity to make a positive impact, while also enhancing personal growth and leadership skills.
One of the many beneficial aspects of Key Club is the great commitment to organizing a wide range of volunteer opportunities. These events allow students to engage locally as they offer both compassion and support.
Key Club Advisor, Mrs. Cathy GaNun, says, “The Key Club members learn the importance of helping the community as well as raising money for organizations like Camp Sunshine and Salvation Army. The community is appreciative of all the help we provide.”
Beyond school-sponsored activities, members of Key Club have also demonstrated a strong commitment to fundraising for various causes and charities.
On November 30, 2024, they raised nearly $1000 for the Salvation Army by participating in their annual bell-ringing campaign.
Natalia Vitiello states, “Being a member of Key Club goes beyond just earning volunteer hours; it’s about being a part of something bigger than yourself. There is nothing more rewarding than seeing everyone’s smiles and gratitude for your service in the community.”
By standing outside local stores and spreading cheer, the Key Club members not only raised a significant amount of money for a great cause but also helped spread goodwill and warmth throughout the Milford community during the holiday season.
2025-2026 Key Club president, Katrina Zukowski, states, “I’ve been a member of the Key Club since my freshman year. It has provided me with so many opportunities and connections; it has taught me leadership, responsibility, and sociability. By joining Key Club, you can meet new people, learn to be a better person, earn service hours, and help your community.”
The impact of Key Club stretches far beyond the walls of Foran High School. Through its dedication to volunteering, the club provides countless hours of service that benefit not only local elementary schools but also organizations across Connecticut.
The projects and events that Key Club members participate in reflect their core values: kindness, generosity, and a great desire to improve the world around them.
The Key Club at Foran High School is so much more than just a club—it’s a strong movement consisting of dedicated students who truly are committed to making the community a better place through leadership, service, and compassion.
