As students begin the new school year, seniors are embracing their last moments at Foran High School. The student government is working hard to bring the class of 2026 together and celebrate the rising seniors.
Shea Pangu, class of 2026 Treasurer, has worked hard with other student government officials to create the perfect events for students to attend.
“Thao Pham, Andrew Bishop, Gavin Conte, and I have been communicating every single day about different fundraisers and events for our class. We are always trying to think of ways to make this school year the best one yet,” says Pangu.
Student government advisor, Mrs. Melissa Caccioppo, has worked with the officials to bring these ideas to life.
Before the school year started, seniors gathered together to paint their handprints on the rock located outside of Foran. Painting the rock has been a senior tradition for many years. Current seniors followed in the footsteps of previous years, with the lead of the senior student council.
A few senior girls took part in a newer project. Some of those with cars decorated them with senior-related phrases, pictures, song quotes, and more. They used markers to create colorful designs, tying into their senior year.
“Decorating my car to resemble senior phrases was a very exciting experience; it brought a bunch of girls to celebrate the beginning of our last year together,” says Brooke Oliver.
Another tradition seniors embraced was the senior sunrise. On the first day of school, senior girls gathered at Woodmont beach to watch the sunrise while wearing their senior girl tee shirts. This event symbolizes the “rise,” or start of their final year of high school.

Senior Nyah Bromei states, “I think they’re really fun ideas that lift up the spirit of our grade. It gives the seniors something to look forward to, and it’s a great way to spend the last year of high school.”
Boromei participated in these activities and expressed her excitement for all these events.
During the second week of school, the student government hosted an “ice-cream social” to gather all seniors. This event included an ice cream truck, spike ball, corn hole, football, and a time for the seniors to bond.
There are many more events to look forward to during senior year. Class of 2026 has senior privilege, internships, prom, and other events to look forward to before graduation in June.
