With a new year starting at Foran, there are many new faces on Foran’s faculty. This school year, seven new teachers are joining our classrooms at Foran.
One of the new members at Foran is tech teacher Mr. Christopher Scionti, who previously taught for 16 years at Cromwell, New Haven, Bridgeport, and Ansonia. Previously working at Sikorsky, he has lots of experience when it comes to engineering, technology, and teaching. Outside of the classroom, he enjoys doing things such as skiing, fishing, gardening, and cooking.
In the Special Education department, the newest faculty member is Mr. Thomas Kuryla. Although he is new in this department, he may be a familiar face, as he has previously been a sub all around Milford. For this upcoming year, Mr. Kuryla is looking forward to not only being able to support his students inside the classroom but also outside at sporting events.

Ms. Anna Einstein, one of the new Spanish teachers, is looking forward to attending and supporting Foran at sporting events. Outside of school, Einstein loves to walk her dog and spend time with her kids at their activities, like soccer games. She is already loving Foran and is excited to continue the fresh school year and get to know all of her students.
Einstein states, “I love the staff and I love the students, everybody that I’m getting to know better.”
The new French teacher, Patricia DeVore, has been teaching for over 25 years. She has taught both French in the United States and English in France. For this school year, she is looking forward to meeting all of her new students and being able to watch them grow in the language. Outside of school, she loves staying active by going on walks or going to the gym.
In the music department, the newest addition is Mr. Ian McNulty. He is looking forward to starting his teaching career at Foran after finishing his student teaching at Bethel High and Johnson Elementary School. Both inside and out of the classroom, McNulty is very passionate about music, and he loves playing the piano and singing.
The second new Spanish teacher, Ms. Jennifer Van Peck, is spending her eighth year teaching in Foran. Van Peck enjoys spending time with family and friends, going to the beach, and watching a good horror movie. She is very excited to start at Foran and already feels very comfortable with the other teachers and students.
Van Peck states, “I feel like I’m a little freshman teacher. So it’s really nice that you guys are creating a sense of belonging.”
The last new teacher is in the English department. Corey Evans, spent the bulk of the 23 years she has been teaching at Oxford High, then moving on to teach at Law. She then moved across town to teach at Foran. Evans is really enjoying both her senior classes and her sophomore classes, and working with all the new kids. She spends lots of her time reading, hanging out with family, and exercising. Evans is excited to grow more comfortable in Foran after teaching at Law for a while, and making the adjustment.
