The classic town rivalry game against Foran and Law Volleyball was definitely not one to miss. Foran won 3-0 with the help of our rowdy student section and of course the desire to beat Law. Kelly Hunt, junior, had an exceptional night having 12 kills and seven aces. The Lions for sure brought their A-game, but Law wasn’t going to go down without a fight. Law amped up their game during the second match having a lead of 12-6 for a while, but Foran came back and was determined to fight until the end. Foran took both the first and second games (25-19, 25-21) and were ready to finish it in the third game. Seniors and captains, Janae Owen and Kayla Ellis, both knew that to end this game, they had to give it their all. Owen coming out with 10 kills and four aces and Ellis with nine digs was definitely a way to accomplish that. Getting the victory was not only due to the positive attitude of the players, but the large support from the student section. A wave a pink glowed in the gym and the endless chants of “Let’s Go Foran!” was a great way to pump up the players and show school pride. The endless support from the students, parents, and others did a tremendous job in helping the team raise money for Breast Cancer Awareness and for the Side-Out Foundation.
