Late Sunday night, news broke that armed robbers had robbed socialite Kim Kardashian at gunpoint in her hotel in Paris. Reports speculate that about 11 million dollars worth of jewelry was taken, as well as several cell phones, however she remained “badly shaken but physically unharmed” according to CNN.com.
Kim was alone in a private apartment in Paris after attending a dinner party hosted by designer Azzedine Alaïa when armed robbers disguised as police officers forced their way in, held a gun to her head and locked her in a bathroom. Senior Michelle Brunson commented, saying how she is “genuinely concerned about her and her well being.” Brunson continued, “She’s clearly a huge icon in the media today and hasn’t done anything to deserve this objectification.”
Her husband, Kanye West, reportedly stopped his highly anticipated set at the Meadows Festival in New York City immediately upon hearing the news of his wife’s situation, abruptly declaring a “family emergency”, leaving fans scrambling for answers.
According to CNN.com, none of the weapons were fired, and neither of her children, North or Saint, were present at the scene of the crime. It has been speculated that Kardashian had left France after filing police reports with mother Kris. It has also been speculated that the star was worried for her safety after fans had revealed her family’s location, however, that is unconfirmed by Kardashian’s rep.
