As October comes to a close, so does the 2017 season of Foran’s Cross Country teams. Overall, the two Foran Cross Country teams, the boys’ and girls’ teams, performed strongly throughout the Fall 2017 season, competing against numerous high schools in the Southern Connecticut division, including Lauralton Hall, Amity, and, of course, Law. Both of Foran’s teams finished first in many meets and invitationals, including the Milford Invitational, which featured Foran, Law, Lauralton, and Platt Tech. Not only have the teams been working well together to finish strong, but each individual runner has been pushing themselves to work hard and perform their best. “I think the best meet we’ve had was yesterday, [October 12th, 2017, in Madison, Connecticut, against Daniel Hand and Guilford High,]” says Coach Ramsey of the girls’ xc team. “Everyone dropped time [of of their previous 3.1 mile times] and most people beat their PRs, personal records.” Mike Melillo, a junior on the boys’ team, commented on how he thought his team did this season. “We have a bright future with a lot [of] young prospects, such as Nico Esposito and Jimmy Rodrigues,” he says.“After losing most of our varsity team from last year, I think we’ve done a decent job.”
