Now that spring is here, sports are back. That means the boys lacrosse team is getting back into the shape of things and preparing for the upcoming season. With only 4 returning seniors, the season will be very exciting with their matchups this year.
For the offseason, the team has been conditioning before they begin the season. The team has been doing conditioning training so they can get in shape.
Captain and senior student, Matt Davidson, is very excited to be back in action to play his final season of high school lacrosse. Davidson says, “As I am very excited for my last season of lacrosse, I am very proud to be a captain for an amazing sports program, and I’m glad to be back with my old and new teammates.”
As the lacrosse team is always looking forward to going to states, it will be difficult to face other teams in the competition. The team will try to focus on going to states this year since the team was just short from making it last year.
Since the lacrosse program has started, Brian Adkins will be the starting coach again for the season. Adkins has done a lot with this program, and makes sure that every player that joins the team will have fun and be ready to get back into the season.
Max Tavitian, another senior captain thinks this will be the best season yet. Tavitian says, “I believe that we can go for this year. We got a lot of talent on our team and I can’t wait to get back on the field for my last season.”
The team is expected to have a great season, there will be some ups and downs during the season. Junior, Ethan McVoy, believes that, “If we just have the right mindset when we walk on that field, I believe we can go far.”
With April coming around the corner, the lacrosse team will be back in action as the team will take on Cheshire as their first game away on April 3rd at 6:30pm. There should be a lot of hope for the team this year, but there should be some challenges as well throughout the season.
