In the Small Details, the City Changes

On Saturday, March 20, spring arrived with changing landscapes and warmer temperatures. As the color of the streets changed from the white and grey from the snow on the roads to green, and people had more daylight time, small details began to paint new landscapes in the city.

In many parts of the city of Milford, change is visible when comparing pictures of both seasons. As rain starts to fall and the sun starts to shine, plants begin to grow again. So, while winter shows a cloudy and cold scenario, spring depicts a more vibrant one.

At times, spring weather can be as unpredictable as its changes. An article from the CDC’s National Center for Environmental Health website states, “Sunny days may be followed by a week of stormy weather. Sometimes extreme weather changes can occur even within the same day.”

As more than 46% of Connecticut’s population is already fully vaccinated, according to the CT Post, and health restrictions begin to ease, the comfortable weather invites people to leave their homes and notice the small changes in the landscape that transform the city.

“While [they are] both magical in their own right, I’ll say I prefer spring,” explains Mrs. Marla Kosenski. “I find it a sensory delight – the aromas of blossoming trees and sprouting grasses, the songs of my returning bird friends, and the sun warming the earth all bring me a newfound joy each year.”
