Being a triplet or a twin is something people would say is very unique. In the United States (US) there’s a 3.31% chance of being a twin and a .14% chance of being a triplet.
Some people find it shocking that seniors Taylor and Summer Collins are twins. Most people feel like if you are a twin that you have to look identical, which isn’t the case.
- Collins says, “You always gave someone to do something with and go places with, it’s like a built in friend.”
The Collins twins used to have every class together when they were younger which had confused some of their teachers, but now since they are older the two of them have been easier to tell apart.
They are excited to be able to graduate right next to each other this year, as well as being able to do all the fun senior activities together.
In the junior class, James, Johnie, and Jackie Tosakoon are a set of triplets that many people have difficulty telling apart. They know a lot of people can’t tell who is who, so they find it fun to confuse people which one is which.
Each triplet has different feelings on being in class with each other. Jackie doesn’t feel like his siblings are better in his classes, since he thinks he doesn’t speak up as much with them around. James and Johnie, on the other hand, like having one of them in their classes, so the two of them don’t have to work with other people since they’re each others’ built-in partners.
All three of the Tosakoons agree that having close siblings around the school is nice.
They like to “get information around the school, the spread of the school gossip.”
Twins Landon and Laney Chan are the class of 2026. They both are in sports during the school year. Landon does football and wrestling, while Laney is in her first year cheering at Foran.
They both speak to disadvantages and advantages for being a twin in school. Laney says it sometimes can be worse having Landon in her class due to his being talkative. Landon thinks it can be better to have Laney in a class since he has someone to go to when he needs help on the work.
They think having each other in the same grade is better since Landon states, “It pushes us to get better grades, since our teachers will tell us if the other one is doing better in the class, which makes us push ourselves to do better in the class.”
