After 25 years of teaching and guiding students, staff member Mr. Todd Williams is stepping into a new role. While continuing to teach, he will also serve as the new Dean of Students during the afternoon.
Williams explained that his motivation for becoming dean came from his long-standing connection to Foran and its students, “After 25 years at Foran, I felt the time was right. I believe I can help kids and make Foran a better place.”
In his new position, Williams oversees various aspects of student life in the afternoon, including monitoring the lunchroom, handling attendance, monitoring the Securly pass system, and student behavior.
While balancing both teaching and administrative responsibilities may seem like a lot, Williams believes that his classroom experiences have strengthened his ability to be a dean.
Williams states, “Life’s about relationships, the connections I’ve built with the students and staff help me every day in my new role.”
Although Williams still teaches periods two, three, and four of AP Psychology, he says stepping away from teaching other courses was a tough decision, “Not getting to teach US History and World History is tough. Those classes gave me the chance to build relationships with underclassmen. If it weren’t for those courses, I wouldn’t have some of the connections with students that I have today.”
Williams will join a team of administrators who share the same vision and goal to support students each day.
Mr. Justin Zywocinski, the morning Dean of Students and newly appointed Milford Public Schools Adult Education Director, praised Williams’ transition into the role, “It is great to have Mr. Williams on our team. He is doing very well in his first few weeks. He is a very good fit for this role because he builds good relationships with students in and out of the classroom.”

Outside of his roles, Williams says he will stay involved in activities, such as the Ski Club, to continue strengthening relationships with students.
William adds, “I want to keep and build relationships to maximize students’ potential.”
His priorities as dean are clear: to help maintain Foran’s strong reputation and ensure it’s a place where students enjoy coming to school. He wants students to know that they can turn to him for support and that he is excited for this new journey.
Williams says his message to the Foran community is simple: “Just be kind.”
