The time is almost here for the most anticipated football game of the season. On Nov. 27, the annual Milford cross-town rivalry Thanksgiving game between Foran and Law will take place, marking the end of their regular season.
It is the 40 year of the Foran vs. Law Thanksgiving game. This is a milestone for the rivalry between Foran and Law, so there will be tension. Each year, the location changes between Foran’s field and Law’s. This year, the game is at 10:30 a.m. on Foran’s home field, The Vito Devito Sports Complex. Ticket prices are $10 per person.
Colton Kaufman, a junior on the offensive line, comments, “The Lions have been steadily improving their skills in preparation for this game. We’ve been getting better through each practice and game we play.”
With the exception of the canceled Thanksgiving game back in 2020, Foran’s been on a losing streak since 2019. This four-year streak will add to the tension of this game, fueling the game.
Kyle Viesselman, team captain, says, “Winning is what is fueling us. We are a team that wants to win, and that is what pushes us to be better. This year will be my fourth time playing in the game, and I have lost the first three. I don’t like losing; I will do everything in my power to make this year different.”

Head coach of the football team, Garrett Walker, comments on the losing streak, saying, “We go into games disregarding records or favorites to win. We just go out there to win.”
The Lions view this game as an important game in their season. Carter Blake, a sophomore on the offensive line, states, “Everyone on the team knows the game is a big deal to them, so everyone tries to stay ready for it.”
With the day of the game nearing, both teams are looking forward to this match. Viesselman states, “The Thanksgiving game is something we look forward to every year. Playing against kids we have grown up playing all different sports with makes the game so much more exciting.“
