The month of May can be celebrated in many amazing ways; many view May as a time to raise awareness for brain cancer. Many play a big role in aiming to raise awareness, promote research, and support individuals affected by brain cancer.
Seanna Issac is 24 years old and diagnosed with DIPG, a rare form of brain tumor. Issac owns a foundation, “Exceptional Seana,” in support of brain cancer.
Through medical treatments, constant hospital visits, radiation, and surgeries, Issac has been dramatically affected by her cancer.
Issac says, “This battle continues to be extremely hard for me. I do what I do to make it easier for myself and others.”
Despite her setbacks, Issac continues to live life to its fullest. Her cancer has opened up more opportunities to meet new people and make a difference in the world. Issac’s mother, Sharon O’Connor, witnesses Issac’s greatness first-hand.
O’Connor shares, “Seana is my biggest inspiration, and everything she does has been incredible.”
Issac’s family and friends are extremely proud of her.
Issac says, “I believe deeply that God is good and that His plans are ultimately for good.”

Issac tries to keep her head up in times of uncertainty.
Lily Walker relates to Issac on some terms. Walker also struggles with brain cancer. Her perseverance throughout her battle has been an inspiration to many.
Walker says, “We won’t stop fighting until not another family has to hear the words, ‘Your child has cancer.’”
Just like all those battling a terminal illness, Walker faces many challenges daily. Some side effects include short-term memory loss, fatigue, and seizures. The disease is extremely difficult to navigate, but Walker says her best friend, Abigail Massari, helps her the whole way through.
Walker says, “I’ve learned about strength both physically and mentally. I’ve learned that having a role model like Abbi can leave a major impact on somebody. I hope to be a role model for others like she is for me.”
Brain cancers have had major effects on many. Inspiring stories such as these give others the motivation to keep fighting. Even small acts of kindness and strength can help one overcome larger challenges.
