The borough of Woodmont in Milford, Connecticut is the home to beautiful beaches, local restaurants and many historical artifacts. Dating back to 1893, Woodmont was first created by the Special General Assembly and became a multiplicity in 1957. What once was a small farming community, transformed itself into a popular summer resort destination with beaches and cottages. Today, Woodmont is Milford’s only borough and is still popular within the whole Milford community along with being a beloved spot for the over 1,500 residents of Woodmont. Woodmont alone not only has a full mile of beach, but it is also home to many delicious restaurants, and stores to shop at. In addition, Woodmont offers many activities to keep its community busy all year round. The beaches are a top choice as residents can walk along the shoreline, swim in the water, play games on the sand, and cast a line in hopes of catching some fish. Other activities that residents spend time doing include sledding on hills in the wintertime, catching some sun in the multitude of parks that Woodmont has, and of course attending the most beloved event: Woodmont Day. From its earliest days to today, Woodmont maintains its close-knit community and serves its residents with a mix of historical charm and a modern lifestyle.
