Every year on November 3, sandwich lovers across the nation come together to celebrate National Sandwich Day, a holiday dedicated to the iconic creation that has become a staple in American cuisine. This year, three local sandwich shops are recognized for their exceptional offerings.
First is the community-owned deli, Bert’s Deli. Bert’s Deli is located in the Colony Center Plaza at 400 Boston Post Road. They are a family-owned business that takes pride in customer satisfaction and using fresh ingredients.
Bert’s is known for their unique offerings on National Sandwich Day. Owner, Yesenia Aragon, states, “We usually put up new specials for every sandwich day, burger day, and any other national food day.”
In addition to their tasty signature sandwiches like “The Mad Philly” and “Pastrami Nightmare,” Bert’s is dedicated to supporting the local community by sponsoring area carnivals and churches.
Next is Seeley’s Deli, a hidden gem, located at 554 Boston Post Road, that provides a delightful dining experience. With its inviting atmosphere, Seeley’s provides a delicious array of sandwiches, salads, and house-made specialties.
Amanda Williams, the owner, shares, “We’re most famous for our chicken cutlets. We make them every day. We actually bread 20 to 30 pounds of cutlets everyday. Anytime you hear the word Seeley’s, a lot of people definitely affiliate it with chicken cutlets.”
The dedication to quality and consistency is what makes Seeley’s Deli a beloved staple in the community, where each bite of their signature dish reflects a passion for great food.
As the community celebrates this day, it serves as a reminder that each deli plays a vital role in bringing people together over delicious sandwiches.
