Hockey season is upon us. Here in Milford the Indians hockey team is composed of three schools. Jonathan law, Platt Tech, and Joseph A. Foran All have kids participating. The last couple seasons for the Indians have not been what they wanted. But, there are high hopes for the Indians this year and already started off with a win with their opening game last Saturday against Newtown. Captain Jake Burwell is very excited for the upcoming season. Burwell says “Personally I’m very excited for the season which is fast approaching and I can speak on behalf of my whole team and say we are all looking forward to hitting the ice at our first practice. We are really going to be working hard to improve and be better than we were this past season.”
With a set schedule the Indians have began practice this Saturday. With their first game approaching very fast they have nothing but concentration over the next few weeks. Another players and assistant captain Jason Lavallee says” I’m absolutely thrilled to play with my team. I’ve been with these kids since youth hockey. I just ready to start! I’ve been waiting all fall to start and now it’s time.” Just like the players some of the fans are really excited. Tyler Heenan says “I love going to the games. The Atmosphere is great. Also, the snack stand it incredible.” So, with game day getting closer and closer the Indians will be practicing getting ready. Come watch the Indians tonight, December 19th at 7pm!
