Singing has always been a part of Ms. Voss’s life. With motivation from her mother, a performer, she sung at home and at church. Voss said, “It was in sophomore year when I knew I wanted to direct music.” She graduated from the University of Arizona and taught for five years in Arizona. She then began teaching here in Connecticut for twenty years. Voss said that she “always forgets” how long she has taught. Her favorite part of teaching is “when the light bulb turns on for the first time for a student” and get motivated for what they enjoy. As for singing, she loves the community that is built and the connections everyone has with both the people and the music. With the Hairspray musical coming up, Voss is excited for everything and can’t choose just one favorite thing. She believes that it has great music and purpose. The performance takes place on Friday, February 20 at 7pm and Saturday, February 21 at both 2pm and 7pm. Make sure you buy a ticket!
