Under the bright stadium lights and low ground, the powderpuff team came on to the field with lots of energy, confidence, and a huge level of intensity that set the tone for a big win.
The annual powderpuff game is played every year, and Foran delivered a dominant performance on both sides of the ball this year.
Last year, Law won the annual contest, so Foran was looking for a comeback
The tone for the night was set before the game even started, Coach Abbigail Blanchard said, “Leading up to the big game, the girls had a lot of aggression during practice and got plenty of reps in during team scrimmages.”
Their preparation was clear from the start of the game. One of the earliest highlights was from a player who scored the first touchdown of the game, giving the team early momentum and firing up the sideline.
After the game, Deldin shared, “Scoring the first touchdown was a great accomplishment for me and helped the team really get fired up.”
The defense also made sure the energy never stopped. A major turning point came when safety Kylie Posey got an interception, her second year in a row securing an interception in the game.
Posey said, “It was an honor to repeat history, and pass coverage drills helped me get that interception.”
Another well-deserved recognition went to team left tackle, senior Alex McWatters, who earned the Dani Kemp award, an honor given to a player who showed leadership and consistent effort.
McWatters stated, “I was surprised at first, but the hard work paid off.”
But the biggest game changer of the night came in the fourth quarter. Junior Ella Dinatale scored a running touchdown to go up 14 points with six minutes left in the game.
DiNatale said, “Scoring that touchdown helped secure the win, and I knew my teammates would get stops on the defense after too.”

By the final whistle, the scoreboard showed all the hard work the team put in. Law won the last two years, 23-24. This year’s powderpuff game wasn’t just a win, but also helps set the tone for Thursday’s game.
Blanchard reflects, “The trophy is finally back where it belongs.”
