Cupcakes, cookies, and pies line the display case; these are just some of the sweet treats new bakery owner, Sage Esposito, has to offer at Bell Bakeshop. Located on 191 Rock Lane in Milford, CT, this bakery is open every Sunday from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
This small business, which opened in early June 2025, aims to reach Milford residents and eventually expand its franchise further. Former Foran High School alumna Esposito was inspired to start her business by her passion for decorating and baking desserts.
Esposito started baking around 10 years ago and began selling her baked goods from home about seven years ago. She liked decorating sugar cookies, which sparked her inspiration.
Esposito’s small business was becoming very successful, and she eventually got a commercial space to be able to have more room and expand.
After years of only selling cookies, Esposito was finally able to sell other items like brownies, muffins, puddings, and more with a more efficient workspace. Although there is a wide variety of goods to choose from, certain items are more popular than others.
Esposito states, “Our most popular things are cookies, like chocolate chip cookies, like thick New York style, like large cookies.”

Bell Bakeshop is perfect if someone wants different variations of items, allowing one to pick what they like best and try something new at the same time.
Esposito highlights, “I change the varieties every week, which is fun to sort of think of what might go together.”
Esposito has successfully been able to reach her business at different events as well.
Foran Special Education teacher, Ms. Anna Maria Colangelo, says, “I would definitely recommend Sage at Bell Bakeshop again… I would recommend her to anyone who is looking for any sweet treat that they want to give as party favors or to serve at a party.”
Esposito individually wrapped the cookies ordered by Colangelo and made sure they were budget-friendly for her and her event.
If someone is looking to go in person, Esposito offers different items every week, and although she has just launched her business six months ago, her bakery is gaining popularity quickly.
A recent customer states, “I thought it was pretty good, the sweets tasted homemade and fresh.”
Esposito has already started making advancements like offering classes for baking, food trucks, and more.
If ever given the chance, stop by Bell Bakeshop on Sunday to try the freshly made sweets, allowing it to set the tone for the rest of the day.
