As 2025 comes to an end, The Mane Street Mirror looks back on another year of reporting, storytelling, and capturing the moments that mattered most. This has been a full calendar year of work, spanning two different sets of staff—those who closed out last spring, and those who carried the paper forward this fall. These numbers reflect everything in our publication produced from January through December, highlighting just how much we have covered this year.
The Numbers Behind the News
From the first story of January to the final post of December, The Mane Street Mirror’s newsroom stayed busy. A team of editors and staff writers shaped the publication’s voice—some familiar faces, some brand new. In total, the paper published 236 articles.
A Year of Change: Staff We Gained and Staff We Said Goodbye To
A year in high school journalism always brings natural transitions. As seniors graduated in June and other students pursued other electives, The Mane Street Mirror said goodbye to 11 editors and 20 staff writers whose work shaped the first half of 2025. But fall brought new energy: two returning editors, 10 new editors, 22 returning staff writers, and 26 new staff writers. Altogether, the publication will ring in the new year with 60 contributors and the same dedicated advisor leading the way.
