This year, Aralynne Woods is the only senior on the Foran Girls Basketball team. As the team’s senior captain, she works hard to help the underclassmen and be a positive role model. She leads both on and off the court, always setting a good example for the team.
Junior Small Forward Norah Bove states, “Aralynne isn’t afraid to take charge when we need it.”
Woods brings a lot of positivity to the team. One of her favorite parts of being on the team is cheering on her teammates during games. She loves celebrating their accomplishments and helping bring them back up after their mistakes.
Her energy on the bench and her support during tough moments help keep the whole team motivated.
She is also known for being hard-working, friendly, and encouraging.
Girls basketball coach Courtney Manciero says, “The past two years she has been someone the underclassmen can turn to for advice and assistance relative to basketball. She helps them feel more comfortable being new to a high school program.”
She helps create a team environment where everyone feels cared for, gives advice, and simply offers a smile when things get stressful during the season.
Junior Power Forward Maddy Brooks says, “She makes everyone feel included, and the team is better because of her.”
When Woods looks back on her time at Foran and being a part of the team, her favorite memories come from the team pasta parties.
“These get-togethers give everyone a chance to relax, talk, laugh, and connect with teammates they may not all get to interact with as much,” Woods added.
For Woods, these moments show her what she loves most about the program. The feeling of family and togetherness.
As the only senior, Aralynne has had a big influence on the team these past four years. She has been a leader, a supporter, and someone who brings the group closer.

Her presence will definitely be missed next year, but the example she set will stay with the younger players she helped guide.
Manciero says, “All around, she is a great teammate, and we are lucky to have her.”
The girls’ basketball community is grateful for everything Aralynne has done and is excited to see all the great things she will accomplish in the future.
