As school dance season comes around, Foran girls search for the perfect dress. Between the Sophomore Ring Dance in March, Junior Semi-Formal Dance in April, and Senior Prom in May, the need for dresses is increasing.
Ring Dance
The Ring Dance includes sophomores celebrating getting their class rings. Girls typically wear shorter dresses from online stores such as Lucy In The Sky, Edikted, and Princess Polly. Windsor is also a popular store for girls to find dresses in person. There is a Windsor location in the mall that has a wide selection of dress types, perfect for the Sophomore Ring Dance.
“I got my dress for the Ring Dance from Beginning Boutique,” junior Ella Dinatale says. Dinatale attended her Ring Dance last year.

Semi-Formal
Junior girls typically wear longer, more formal dresses to the Semi-Formal Dance compared to the Ring Dance. Popular stores to shop for this dance include Pepper Mayo and Windsor. Windsor has both long and short dresses, perfect for any school dance.
“I loved the dress I wore to Semi-Formal, it was from Windsor and was blue with sparkles,” says senior Shea Pangu.
Prom
Girls at Foran also wear long dresses to Prom. Prom is the opportunity for girls to wear a type of dress they may not be able to wear again. Prom dresses are long and unique. Popular brands to buy dresses for Prom are Jovani and Sherri Hill. Some places to find these brands are Atianas, in Milford, CT, and Winged Monkey, located in Westport, CT.
“I enjoy Prom the most because it is the final dance for our seniors. They are also out of our building for a few weeks before the Prom on their internships, and I like to be able to catch up with them to see how everything is going. I do enjoy seeing everyone all dressed up as well!” says Mrs. Melissa Cacioppo, teacher and coordinator of school dances.
