Fresh, local, and seasonal products are found at a new farm in Milford, Connecticut.
Gingerbread Farm, located on 423 Oronoque Road, provides fresh eggs, homemade baked goods, and hand-poured candles to the local community.
Just opening in September 2025, Gingerbread Farm has grown tremendously through the months, offering a variety of high-quality products to nearby families.
With its unique title, the Gingerbread Farm got its name from the home’s distinctive architectural features and gingerbread-house look.
Ryan and Leea Tonelli, owners of the farm, state, “We loved the character of the property and wanted to keep its charm while adding our own spin – hence ‘Gingerbread Farm.’”
Bonnie Gilbert, an avid customer at Gingerbread Farm, finds joy in going to the farm frequently.
Gilbert states, “I enjoy going to the farm; it allows me to have fresh goods, which are hard to find in grocery stores most of the time. It is a great addition to the community.”

Tonelli and L. Tonelli were inspired to open the Gingerbread Farm through their comfort in cooking and raising animals.
Grace Tonelli, senior at Foran as well as sister to R. Tonelli, states, “Leea has always wanted chickens, and Ryan has always enjoyed cooking. They wanted to grow their likes into something more than just a hobby.”
With different interests, L. Tonelli and R. Tonelli are able to work together efficiently within their farm. R. Tonelli tends to do a lot of the cooking and baking, and L. Tonelli enjoys creating seasonal crafts, decorating the farm for seasons, and hand-pouring candles.
A main objective of the owners is the way the location is presented to those who visit. They hope for the farm to bring a sense of comfort, tradition, and community spirit.
“Our goal is to create a welcoming space that reflects the charm of the ‘gingerbread house,’ while offering something unique and homegrown for the community to enjoy,” R. Tonelli states.
With its warmth and connection it brings to the community, Gingerbread Farm stands out differently from other farms around Milford. The farm is entirely based on the Tonellis’ home property, giving it the personal and seasonal feel it has.
