Foran High School has turned the page to a new era in girls’ lacrosse, hiring veteran coach Michael Spinner, whose reputation is building a strong, disciplined, and competitive program.
The program exceeded expectations last year, going 10-7, and making the Class M State Playoffs in their first Division 1 year in the SCC.
While the team graduated a couple of key varsity players, they also lost their former head coach, Mrs. Ashley Duesler, and assistant coach, Miss. Bridget Collins.
From 2023-2025, Coach Spinner had the role as assistant varsity and JV head coach for the St. Joseph Cadets, and had many prior head coaching jobs at Pace University, Trumbull High School, The University of Mount Saint Vincent, and Greenwich High School.
“Coming to Foran was not a matter of me wanting ‘a’ coaching position. I specifically wanted ‘this’ coaching position, and am honored to take on this role,” states Spinner.

If there’s one thing Spinner has taken away from his coaching career, it’s to dream big and strive for greatness every day.
“I want this team to dream big and work to get there. I want our team thinking, dreaming, and acting big every single day, so this outstanding program can have its best season, ever, in 2026,” states Spinner.
As the girls prepare for the upcoming season, Spinner is setting goals for the program. The Lions are expected to strengthen their offensive play, continue their midfield depth, and develop a defense capable of matching the SCC’s top competition.
The Lions will rely heavily on their upperclassmen to help guide the program, one being senior midfielder Kylie Posey.
Posey is a fan of his coaching experience, lacrosse knowledge, and desire to win this upcoming season.
Like Posey, another key player is Junior midfielder Ella DiNatale, who returns for her third season as a varsity starter.
“It will be difficult for him to get used to everyone’s playstyles and abilities, but he seems very experienced and should be able to adjust quickly by communicating,” states DiNatale.
With a new coach, returning star players, and a strong sense of leadership, Foran enters the 2026 season ready to build on last year’s success. The Lions are in a position to take a major step forward as they begin a new season.
